Not only is Halloween creeping upon us but The Walking Dead has started! Yay! I may be the biggest The Walking Dead fan there is. If you love it leave me a comment I’d love to chat with ya! In honor of The Walking Dead’s premiere on Sunday, my son and I baked some zombie cookies from Brand Castle.
The kit comes with the cookie mix, green coloring, cookie cutters, red and black cookie icing tubes. Make sure you have eggs and butter at home to get your mix ready. I accidentally forgot to add the green coloring into the cookie dough so I improvised and added it to my frosting. The dough will be very sticky so be sure to leave it in the fridge for 10-15 mins so it could be less sticky. Also, have plenty of flour for dusting your surface when you are rolling the dough for your cookie cutters.
Once they were done baking we let them cool and got to decorating! The second best part after eating them. I made the frosting following the directions on the box and added the green coloring to create a green frosting color. We tried to match the images of the box but that didn’t turn out exactly like it. We tried, that’s what counts, right?
The black and red coloring tubes were so easy to work with! I tried not to cut the tubes too much, just enough to make thin lines. My son had a blast creating his own little zombie cookie and I don’t have to mention that he devoured it once he was done! Boy loves his sweets!
Aren’t they adorably frightful? I love how wacky they are but we had so much fun decorating and being creative. Exactly how I wanted to spend my Sunday afternoons with my son. Great time for us to bond and talk over zombie cookies we made ourselves!
Brand Castle has so many adorable kits for Halloween or any occasion!
