The Great Big Toys”R”Us Book of Awesome is Coming this Weekend!

Guys, the Toys”R”Us Toy Book of Awesome is hitting newsstands this weekend! I remember looking forward to the toy book when I was a little girl. I remember waking up early on Sunday morning to head to the local bodega (grocery store) with my dad to pick up the newspaper. Now my children look forward to seeing The Great Big Toys”R”Us Book of Awesome (ok, me too!).

The Great Big Toys”R”Us Book of Awesome is different this year. It has an app, The Geoffrey Shuffle (available on iTunes and Google Play store), that brings the book to life. Through an augmented interactive experience kids are able to scan specialty marked page to play a game. The game shuffles three gift boxes – the catch? Find Geoffrey! Players will see their favorite characters in the gift boxes but the goal is to find Geoffrey.  Once you find Geoffrey, players will unlock a coin. Upon completing the game, players can enter Geoffrey’s Awesome Christmas Sweepstakes for a chance to win awesome prizes, including a $2,000 Toys“R”Us Gift Card and a Beaches® Resorts Luxury Included® Vacation.
Kids can also play the app without using the The Great Big Toys”R”Us Book of Awesome. The more they play the more chances they have to win. Remember there is a daily sweepstakes and the grand prize. The game is fun for kids and my son loved seeing his favorite characters pop up. You can see a quick overview of the game here.
The Great Big Toys“R”Us Book of Awesome is filled with tons of savings for parents. Who doesn’t love saving money, right? Here are some examples,

  • FREE $10 Toys“R”Us Gift Card with a purchase of $75 or more
  • FREE LEGO® Star Wars: The Force Awakens gift with ANY LEGO Star Wars purchase of $40 or more
  • SAVE $10 on any regular priced Barbie® doll or playset purchase of $49.99 or more

My son has his eyes on LEGO building sets which he has already mentioned in his Wish list. The book has a page where kids can write the toys they want or they can just circle them like my daughter did. Be prepared for your kids to look through the book multiple times! My kids loved seeing all the new toys.

Toys”R”Us is offering some awesome services on top of the amazing savings:

  • Price Match Guarantee
  • Free store pickup
  • Free shipping on purchases of $19 or more

Awesome, right? Sometimes I prefer shopping online than heading out to crowded malls. I have the option to ship it straight to my house or pick up in store if I’m on time constraints. I love that Toys”R”Us is offering these services this Holiday season.

Oh, and one more thing, “I don’t wanna grow up, I’m a Toys R Us kid
they got a million toys at Toys R us that I can play with…”

Sorry I had to, ha ha! Now it’ll be stuck in your head all day!

Will you be picking up The Great Big Toys“R”Us Book of Awesome this weekend?

Disclosure: I was provided with a gift card in exchange for this post. All opinions stated here are my own.

What a great resource this book is! I can’t believe the holiday season is upon us. Where did October go? It feels like it just flew by. There are a lot of kids in our family, so I’ll be needing to buy a bunch of toys. This book will surely give me some great ideas!

I used to love doing this as a kid! Circling the toys I wanted and it’s a great thing to pass on to our own kids. Gives us great ideas for gifts but also is a fun afternoon activity for them! Yay for engaging activities!

It’s awesome how kids now are presented with so many different types of toys. Toys R Us has a huge collection of these things providing happiness for little ones. Playing the app is such a cool thing for kids to get to be more familiar with technology as well.

That’s such a good idea. I didn’t know a book like that existed. Makes it a whole lot easier to know what to get for Christmas. I wonder what my kids would pick if they had that book.

They never send me my book. I was very mad a few years ago when my kids still loved toys. I had to get my neighbors book and dream for them. Now we barely go in toysrus my kids are into their electronics so I don’t bother with the toys too much anymore.

I remember reading the Toys R Us book when I was younger. I love that it is still around for kids to read and look at now. I had no idea that there was an app to go with it.

This reminds me of my childhood and looking forward to gifts as a child. I love that they integrated technology with an app for children to play on – it seems like kids come out of the womb knowing how to use technology these days! 😀
