BBQ’s, picnics, and parties are constantly happening during Summer. The nice weather just makes people want to be outside enjoying the weather and sunshine. The get-togethers usually involve an activity like baseball, soccer, or even volleyball. What about changing things up a bit? I like trying new games and activities so when I came across OgoSport, I was intrigued at their innovative products.
The OgoSport OgoDisk RAQ is not just one thing, it can be used in so many different ways. You can use the handle to throw back and forth or you can just hold the OgoDisk. The Flux ball is also adjustable – you can slow it down or make it go faster. The OgoDisk has a mesh bouncy material (acts like a trampoline of sorts for the flux ball) that allows the flux ball to bounce off. You can throw balls pretty far, about 150 feet in the air! Since the material of the OgoDisk is cloth mesh, you can even play in the pool! You can bounce water balls off it or any other water ball. The OgoDisk will float in the water so you won’t have to worry about losing it!
OgoSport was founded in 2004 by a duo of accomplished designers from world-renowned school of design, the Pratt Institute. Our talented roster of creators formed the company to question the current direction of play, and these inquires have inspired us to seek new directions in product development.
I also loved that they set a criteria for their products:
- Encourage active play and exercise
- Age ranges span from young children to grandparents
- Encourage play between all age combinations in-between
- Allow for open-ended exploration and experimentation
- Opportunities for both indoor and outdoor play
- Benefits for therapy and children with special needs
- Safety, quality, and integrity
- Batteries not required
OgoDisk RAQ is versatile in that it could be played with another person or by yourself. My son and I played back and forth at the park but I also bounced the ball from one RAQ to another RAQ when he was playing in the playground. We had a lot of fun tossing the ball between each other. It does help with hand eye coordination which is great for baseball. My son is learning how to catch and this is a good way to help with distance and catching the ball. Overall, it was so much fun to play and I can’t wait to bring it to the pool with us!
