Back to school is in session! Did you get everything you need to make their school year great? There are some things that we don’t realize kids need to have a great start. Taking care of their teeth! Tooth decay is the number one chronic childhood illness in America. Nationwide, kids miss more than 150 million school hours to poor dental health. Let’s change that! #Back2Smiles

Starting on a routine early on will help kids stick to it. I started brushing my kids teeth since they were infants. Passing a soft cloth through their gums when they didn’t have teeth. As they got older I would get them their favorite characters on their toothbrushes.

My kids are pretty good about brushing if I remind them. We have good days when I don’t have to say anything and they get it all done but sometimes they need a little push. We go to the dentist twice a year and so far they’ve been great! We limit the sweets they eat.

What are some of your dental tips for kids?

My tip is to show your kids how to brush correctly and go to the dentist every 6 months.

I have a timer for my kids so they brush the full 3 minutes for healthier teeth.
