My husband and I are originally from New York. I was born and raised in the Bronx while he lived in Brooklyn. We love that we got to experience the city life. We love to visit but prefer the lay back life of Florida. I came across an art print on Fulcrum Gallery and fell in love with it. I knew I had to incorporate it into our new home. I found the perfect place right in our dining area.
My style is very simple. I like clean lines and simple designs. I know you may think of New York City and think flashy, lights, gold, bling, etc but to me its peaceful. There is something that was quiet about New York on cold wintery nights. The print reminds me of those times. The times when my husband and I would walk the city while light snow flurries came down or when we would walk Central Park. These are the memories we will think of as we enjoy family dinner with our children.
I decided to go with simple white dinnerware with accents of silver. You’ll see the silver pendant light, silver chargers, and silver napkin rings. I loved the 3-tiered serving platter from Ikea. Isn’t it perfect for holding all those little appetizers? I loved the Rustic Iron Candle Holder, I think it provides the perfect ambiance for dinner.
The table is from American Signature (we actually already own it). We like dark espresso furniture and this one was priced really good. We saw it in person and loved the simplicity. We own other American Signature furniture and it has held up wonderfully throughout the years. We also love that it is expandable! We went with the wood chairs for our current setup (we have small kids, ’nuff said). I loved the high back chairs in the rich blue color. I think it really makes the blues in the art piece pop out. What’d you think?
Disclosure: I received the art work in exchange for a blog post. No other compensation was received. All opinions stated here are my own.
