My Friend Cayla is the world’s first interactive doll. I was intrigued when I discovered the doll. An interactive doll that talks, reads stories, and plays games? Yes! Cayla does all that and more! The doll is an international best seller (Top 10 toy on Amazon UK, Agros, and Carrefour), winner of Innovative Toy of the Year Award 2015, and Gadget of the year recipient. And guess what? She’ll be available at major US retailers starting August 2015! The doll will be available in different skin tones and hair color.
My Friend Cayla is compatible with Apple devices and Android devices. All you have to do is download the “My Friend Cayla” app on your device. Install the required 3 AA batteries and turn Cayla on(located in the back). Cayla uses Bluetooth technology so you will have to pair her to your device. You know it is successful when you hear 4 quick beeps. Launch the App and press “Hello” on the screen to get Cayla talking. When the charm on her necklace lights up – you can talk to her!
- What’s your name?
- What’s the capital of France?
- What’s 26 + 17?
- Tell me a story
- Spell Hippopotamus
The questions are endless! Cayla is not just a fun doll but she is also an educational toy. She can answer questions that kids may not know the answer to. She can read stories to kids. She also has a photo album where she tell kids about all the places she’s been.
My daughter loves playing the memory game. I think it is so cool to see the cards turning over on their own! Technology! Cayla lets the person know when it is their turn or if they got a match. I love seeing the interaction between the two of them. Cayla also plays TIC-TAC-TOE. Hopefully, more games will be added to the app!
Besides being a very cool interactive toy, she is also a regular doll. She comes with a brush and mirror. My daughter loves combing her long hair. She is fully compatible with most clothing and accessories for 18″ dolls. I love that my daughter can play dress up with her. She is always changing her dolls clothing.
Final thoughts: I think every little girl is going to be asking for their own “My Friend Cayla” doll this Christmas. It really is an interactive doll that engages kids. Asking questions, learning new things, having someone to play games with but yet still being a regular doll that they can play dress up. It is the total package!
